Job Description

AFRY's business segment Technical Communication is growing, and we are now looking for a Technical Communicator. As a Technical Communicator, you are the link between technology and people. You work on creating manuals, catalogs, and instruction guides. You are skilled at sorting, selecting, and structuring large amounts of information to make it easily accessible and clear. Explaining how products fit together and how processes work is your expertise.

As a consultant at AFRY, you are permanently employed by us but have the opportunity to work with many different clients on various assignments. We carry out assignments for a wide range of industries, which means we can offer you a great variety of tasks with opportunities to work in, for example, the automotive industry, medical technology, defense industry, or other interesting manufacturing industries of consumer products from well-known brands.

We are currently looking for technical writers for assignments in Södertälje and Uppsala.

Examples of assignments that we in the group work with include:

• Manuals
• Spare parts catalogs
• Facility documentation

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in technology, pedagogy, and who is skilled at expressing themselves in writing in both Swedish and English. If you can also create simple illustrations, that is a big plus.

You are good at structuring and condensing large amounts of information into short, clear messages. You are organized and meticulous, work well in a team but also have your own drive forward.

What we are primarily looking for is a colleague who wants to contribute to and work in a positive work environment where we share our knowledge and value teamwork. The ability to understand customer needs and focus on solving their problems is a given in our daily work.

Knowledge requirements:

• Education in the field/several years of experience in a corresponding role
• Experience working in XML-based systems
• Knowledge of what DITA and topics are
• Good pedagogical skills
• Fluent in Swedish and English

Meritorious:

• Background as an engineer or equivalent
• Previous experience of STE
• Experience working in the defense industry or automotive industry
• Security clearance
